Homes with Character

About Me

I grew up in Cork and trained in Interior Design in Dublin 2000. I worked as an in-house interior designer for Minnie Peters in Dublin for a few years and established my own practice in 2002. I have in recent years returned to Cork. I bring knowledge and instinctive creative skills to both modern and period properties. This is very much influenced by having been a member of The Irish

Georgian Society and having completed the Fine and Decorative Arts course with the IPAV in Dublin. I try to incorporate old and new pieces into each design. The planet is suffering so I try to play my part by upcycling client's furniture to bring joy back into them and by sourcing vintage pieces whenever I can.

My Philosophy

I believe in creating interiors that spark joy in those who live there. Rooms that are comfortable, feel good to be in and function well. I don't believe in following fashionable trends, you'll only want to change it again! My style is informed by the character of the house and the people who live there. Your home should reflect you!

"I used Grainne to renovate my home in Dublin. It needed a full refurbishment and was 3,500 sq feet. She was superb in helping with the Interior Design. Our house has turned out more beautiful, full of light and more importantly so easy to live in than I could have hoped. Grainne was an ideal person to work with. She has a most pleasing easy manner & her wide experience meant she knew who to get & when. In fact she saved money on the project using her contacts & clever ideas. I could not recommend Grainne more highly. My home is such a gorgeous, pleasant place now and I am so delighted with all her great advice. "Juliet Benson

"Grainne was commissioned by the Irish Cancer Society to design the interiors for its new premises on 43-45 Northumberland Road in 2004.

She succeeded to provide a warm, welcoming, and functional environment for staff, patients, and their families, whilst being sensitive to the conservation requirements of the Victorian building.

Grainne’s excellent communication skills, professionalism and positive attitude gave us confidence that we would achieve a great result. She has left us with a building and environment to be proud of, which is admired by all who visit us here in the Irish Cancer Society.
